First Alert Weather: winter's about to take a long break!

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A warm front will pass Monday night and bring a period of above average temperatures through the week and into part of the weekend. The warmer details...

MONDAY NIGHT: Expect chilly east breezes near 10mph to switch to milder southerly breezes late. Lows: mainly lower 40s. Clouds: variable. Shower chances: 30 to 40% late. 

TUESDAY: A 30 to 40% chance of a shower could linger early. Otherwise, expect partly sunny skies, mild west breezes near 10mph, and highs in the 60s to locally low 70s inland! 

WEDNESDAY AND THURSDAY: Daily highs will likely continue to be a mix of inland 70s and coastal 60s in this period. Rain chances: near 30% Wednesday, lower for Thursday.

FRIDAY AND THE WEEKEND: A slow-moving cold front will bring rain chances: 50% Friday, 40% Saturday, lower for Sunday. Highs: mainly 70s Friday, 60s for Saturday and Sunday.
