"A Season of Quilts" exhibit kicked off its first event in its three month program.
"The Threads that Bind" is the theme kicking off the five week phase lasting through March 22nd. It was held at the Tifton Museum of Arts and Heritage center. Each quilt at the event depicts someone's life story of the challenges they've overcome.
"We wanted to use storytelling and story quilts as a way to talk about the relationships, the things that connects everybody in making a world that where everybody can work together to have it be a better place," said Marion Curry.
Renowned quilt storyteller Beth Mount will speak at the exhibit on March 1st. The second phase of "A Season of Quilts" will start March 29th through April 30th.
