Literacy Association brings Mardi Gras to Tifton

TIFTON, GA (WALB) -

A Literacy Foundation is bringing a Mardi Gras Celebration to Tifton.

The Cajun Mardi Gras event will be held at the Our Divine Savior Catholic Church Fellowship Hall on Love Avenue. The event will have lots of food, drinks and traditional Cajun music and dancing. A live band, The Porchdogs, will also be performing. All of the proceeds will benefit the Tifton-Tift County Literacy Association.

"There will be a fantastic meal served. There will be gumbo, rice, mac shoe corn, peas, cornbread, bread pudding, and there will be fresh beignets," said Victoria Horst.  

The event will be held next Saturday February 22nd at 7:00 p.m. Tickets are $30 each. They can be purchased at the Tifton-Tift County Public Library, at the door, from any Tift County Rotary Club member or click here.
