ALBANY, GA (WALB) -

An Albany woman is facing charges after she crashed her car into another person's home on Old Dominion Drive. Her children were inside the vehicle at the time.

It was just before 9:00 a.m. when a vehicle crashed into this home, causing this large hole. 16-year-old Ravyn Taylor and her grandfather were home when the crash happened.

"We heard a big boom. Me and my grandfather met at my door because we thought each other were hurt," said Ravyn Taylor.

Taylor and her grandfather were not injured. They looked out the window to find a car inside their house.

"My friend told me, she said they came in through the ditch and then she spun and came straight through and hit the wall," said Taylor.

Taylor says the front of 55-year-old Mabel McDonald's vehicle was inside her mom's bedroom. McDonald, and her two children were inside the car at the time of the crash.

"The lady she was a little disoriented," said Lt. Lorenzo Hall.

"I grabbed the little boy and I was like come on Jaden follow me to the house, and then my grandpa was getting the little girl out and he gave her to me and was like call the cops," said Taylor.

Police say they aren't sure how McDonald's vehicle veered off the road. They say it went down an embankment and through a neighbor's yard before striking the house. McDonald was transported to the hospital. Her five year old had a busted lip.

"They were crying I was trying to calm them down, get the blood off the little girl," said Taylor.

These skid marks and pieces of McDonald's vehicle are still in their neighbor's yard. The crash caused the front wall of the house to shift. The landlord estimates it could cost more than $15,000 to repair. Taylor says she's thankful no one inside the house was hurt.

McDonald is charged with failure to maintain a lane. Officials at Phoebe say she is in good condition.
