Lacrosse players gather to honor lacrosse player, Ricky McAllaster, at the Ricky McAllaster Memorial Lacrosse Classic.
The tournament honors Ricky's passion for Savannah becoming more involved in lacrosse and his tenacity to bring lacrosse into Benedictine Military School. A tremendously talented lacrosse player from Savannah, Ricky lost his life in a tragic car accident in January of 2010.
"We started this foundation to help educate our teenagers to the dangers of teen driving. Ricky was only 15, he did not know the physics, he didn't understand the dangers of speeding: driving without a seat belt and so forth. So, we've made it our mission to try to save other teenagers lives", said Elison McAllaster, co-founder of the Ricky McAllaster Foundation and Ricky's mother.
The funds raised at the tournament will go to the Ricky McAllaster Foundation to support teen driving programs in schools in the area as well as youth lacrosse in the Coastal Empire.
