SOCASTEE, SC (WMBF) - February's winter storm is crippling to the region, the state and the entire east coast.

The viewer pictures we received tell the story of this storm. Viewers helped document the damage and now the beginning of the recovery.

While many people are still in the dark, others are beginning to pick up the pieces; tree branches and other debris that fell into yards, onto cars and even through the roofs of homes.

We asked you to stay indoors during the storm, but even some homes weren't safe. Entire trees were uprooted from the ground, roads were completely blocked by fallen limbs.

We have seen pieces of history succumb to being smothered in ice.

Now after a storm that gripped our region and still isn't letting go, neighbors are turning to neighbors to lend a hand as the cleaning process begins.

Your photos have truly helped us document the damage. As we recover from this storm, show us how you're helping your neighbor using the hashtag #WMBFhelp.
