A Phoenix man accused of stabbing a neighbor to death and taking off on a bicycle early Friday morning has been arrested.
Glendale police responded to a reported stabbing in the 4600 block of W. Rose Lane just after 11 p.m. Thursday. They found the 37-year-old victim unresponsive with a stab wound. He was taken to the a Valley hospital where he died from his injuries.
Investigators say a verbal argument started between the victim and another man from a nearby home. It escalated to a physical fight and the stabbing.
Within the hour, Glendale police located the suspect riding a bike with no reflectors near 67th and Olive.
Glendale police said Christopher Martinez, 31, had warrants for his arrest and was found in possession of a knife and drug pipe.
Martinez was booked into the Fourth Avenue Jail late Friday morning on one count of second-degree murder.
The victim's name is not being released at this time.
