TOLEDO, OH (Toledo News Now) -
A home owned by convicted killer Steven King has been placed on a demolition list.
Lucas County Land Bank officials say there's a tax foreclosure on the property for $9,000 of delinquent taxes. This puts the property on the list to be demolished, which could take months.
The land bank also sent a letter to residents who live near the property. Under their side lot program, if anyone lives next to the lot, they're able to purchase it for $100.
Richard Zattau, who lives right next door, says he is considering buying the property to put up a mural to remember baby Elaina. He has also offered the side of his house to any artist who wants to paint a mural.
Steven King and Angela Steinfurth admitted to killing Steinfurth's daughter, Elaina. Both are serving life in prison.
Toddler Elaina Steinfurth was missing for months before her remains were found in an east Toledo garage. Two people are charged in the case, as the rest of the family and community waits for justice.More >>
