Officials urging motorists to stay off roads

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Officials are urging motorists to stay off the roads.

Officials say if you do have to travel, please use extreme caution. Patches of ice on roadways remain wide-spread.

According to the Wilmington Police Department, since 5 a.m. tree limbs and power lines have been down on Rogersville Road.

A large tree branch has fallen in the roadway at Oleander Dr. and Magnolia Dr.

A tree limb fell through a house at 3800 Cherry Ave.

Police say no injuries were reported.

In addition, multiple traffic accidents have occurred on both bridges. And a tree limb pulled a transformer down at Wrightsville Ave. and Windsor Ave., which caused some power outages.
