WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – North Carolina Representative Mike McIntyre (D) - NC 7th District spoke about the power of prayer at the 16th Annual Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in Wilmington.

Congressman McIntyre, the keynote speaker at the event, was joined by local elected officials and other community leaders to pray for the nation and eastern North Carolina.

During his speech McIntyre said, "The power of prayer can never be underestimated.  Indeed, prayer knows no bounds.  What a blessing it is to be joined by our region's leaders who understand that true leadership must be undergirded with prayer and guided by our faith in our Creator."

The Mayor's Prayer Breakfast is similar to the National Prayer Breakfast that was held in the capitol last week.
