NEW HANOVER COUNTY, NC (WECT) – You can expect another name on the ballot for New Hanover County Sheriff this fall.

Marc Benson, a former deputy for the sheriff's office, said Saturday that he plans to run for the elected position.

He currently works as a private investigator and hosts the radio program Blue Line Radio.

Benson, a Republican, would face the winner of a Democratic primary between incumbent sheriff Ed McMahon and the man he replaced, former sheriff Sid Causey.

McMahon won the 2010 race against Benson.
