WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Wilmington Housing Authority is moving forward with a multi-million dollar plan to renovate the Rankin Terrace development.
According to Jeff Hovis, chairman of the Wilmington Housing Authority Board, the agency is going to completely overhaul its 77 unit development.
Hovis said construction could begin in May and cost $4.6 million.
"This will just elevate that neighborhood and hopefully push it to people's taking pride in the neighborhood and area around it. A lot of property owners have already started improving their property around there," Hovis said.
Hovis said an official timetable could not be placed on the project, but he suspects it will take a year once construction begins.
