WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington Police arrested a Wilmington teen Thursday in connection to a murder that occurred January 19.
Dominique Olivia Gibbs, 16, was charged with first degree murder in connection to the shooting death of 18-year-old Raequan Rouse.
Rouse was shot multiple times. It happened near the 600 block of North Tenth Street before he died in the hospital.
Police said he was dropped off at the hospital by two people who ran away before they could be detained.
Gibbs is also being charged as an adult with discharging a firearm into an occupied dwelling and first degree attempted murder.
According to the arrest warrant, Gibbs is accused of firing shots into a home occupied by William and Thomas Point, along with several others. The attempted murder charge stems from firing several shots at Thomas Point.
Gibbs made her first court appearance Friday morning where her bond was set at $1 million. The teen's next court date is scheduled for Feb. 27.
