UPDATE: Police arrest additional suspect in Elizabethtown shooting

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) - Officers with the Elizabethtown Police Department announced that an additional arrest has been made in connection with a shooting that happened on Jan. 18. 

Donte Premier Jones, 16, was arrested last weekend and charged with attempted first degree murder.

Authorities say the victim, Kevin White, was shot near the intersection of Quail St. and Davis St. in Elizabethtown on Saturday, Jan. 18. 

Officers later pulled over a vehicle matching the description of the car involved in the shooting and that's when they arrested Saquon Reginald Covington, Antonio Lamel Murchison, and David Leon Swindell and charged them in connection to the shooting.

    The puppy was spotted under a leaking tar storage container on the public property. According to the animal rescue group that posted about the situation on Facebook, it cried out for help, unable to move as one side of his body and his face were stuck in the substance.
