WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Officers with the Wilmington Police Department responded to a shot spotter alert with multiple rounds fired in the 1100 block of Chestnut Street and the 300 block of North Fifth Street around 7:40 Wednesday night.
According to police, officers found five shell casings in the middle of Chestnut Street. Officers went to the second scene after hearing additional shots fired just west of their location.
While officers were looking for shell casings, a citizen called in to say they saw a dark colored SUV, traveling north, firing shots out of the vehicle.
According to police, no casings were found at the second location. No injuries were reported and no property was damaged.
