WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - At-or-below-average temperatures are likely into the weekend. A disturbance could generate a few showers Thursday night into Friday but a more significant rain system is likely for Saturday.
THURSDAY NIGHT: Expect many clouds with a chance of light rain (sleet and snow may mix with road accum. unlikely). Temperatures will chill to lows mainly in the low and mid 30s with light north breezes.
FRIDAY: Expect variable clouds. Chance of a leftover shower will be 20 or 30% - especially in the morning hours. Temperatures will grow to highs mainly in the lower 50s amid continued light north or northeast breezes.
SATURDAY: A low pressure system will track along the Carolina coast and bring a high chance of soaking rain showers. Clouds, precipitation, and chilly northeast breezes will combine to pin temperatures to the 40s to, at best, lower 50s for most of the day.
EXTENDED FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS: In the wake of Saturday's rain system, expect lower rain chances, partly cloudy skies, and highs in the 50s to near 60 for Sunday. Monday will likely be chilly and dry but shower chances will likely return by midweek.
