Police investigate multiple shots fired calls

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington Police were called Wednesday night to respond to reports of multiple gun shots fired.

 

According to Sgt. Kittrell with the Wilmington Police Department, several people, as well as ShotSpotter, reported gun shots in the area of Chestnut and Tenth Streets around 7:30 p.m.

Officers found shell casings, but no major damage or injuries were reported with the shooting.

The second report of shots fired was picked up by ShotSpotter technology in the area of Fifth and Grace Streets. Investigators were not able to find shell casings at that location.
