BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) - The Boiling Spring Lakes Board of Commissioners voted to spend nearly $40,000 to address the town's flooding issues.
Town leaders voted to pay an engineering firm to study flooding issues in the town.
As we've reported in the past, several areas of the town have flooding problems due to the city's drainage pipes not working properly.
Suncoast Engineering out of Raleigh has been awarded the contract and will begin work in two weeks.
Officials also voted to spend $18,000 on a new truck and new equipment for the town's Animal Control Department.
