The Valley Police Department, in conjunction with the Valley Area Crime Stoppers, is offering a reward of $1,865 for information leading to the arrests of the two armed robbery suspects.
The owner of Chambley's outdoor store, George Chambley, reported to police that he was robbed at gunpoint as he arrived to open the store at 7 a.m. on Feb. 5, 2014.
"We've been in business for about 30 years, and this is the first," says Chambley, "And I guarantee it will probably be the last."
Chambley says as soon as he got out of his car, two black males approached him and forced him on to the ground at gunpoint. In an altercation that lasted about 30 seconds, the men fled the scene with Chambley's briefcase holding an unknown amount of cash. Chambley was not injured.
Responding officers set up a perimeter near the business, and used K-9 dogs to track the suspects, but they were not found.
"It's just a matter of time before either one of the escalate, and someone could seriously get killed," says Major Mike Reynolds of the Valley Police Department. "We need to stop that before it happens."
Chambley says the men were 6' tall, and appeared to be in their mid-20's to early 30's. They were both dressed in black and had semi-automatic handguns. One male was wearing a black ski mask and the other was wearing an orange toboggan-type mask.
