Cincinnati, OH (PRWEB) February 05, 2014
A Cincinnati alcohol and drug rehab center is launching a new program to get adults and adolescents free from addiction at Drug Addiction Treatment Centers.
Statistics released from the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services indicate that "in 2012, there were 4.6 million persons aged 12 or older who had used alcohol for the first time within the past 12 months; this averages to approximately 12,600 initiates per day. In 2012, most (81.4 percent) of the 4.6 million recent alcohol initiates were younger than age 21 at the time of initiation. Approximately 58.3 percent initiated prior to age 18. In 2012, the average age at first alcohol use among recent initiates aged 12 to 49 was 17.4 years, which was similar to the 2008, 2010, and 2011 estimates, but was higher than the estimates in 2002 to 2007 and in 2009 (ranging from 16.4 to 16.9 years). The mean age at first use among recent initiates aged 12 or older who initiated use prior to the age of 21 was 16.0 years, which was similar to the 2011 estimate of 15.9 years."
The new program at Alcohol & Drug Rehab Cincinnati will involve both group and one-on-one interactions, but also include an interactive part where videos and key information on healthier diets and how addiction affects the brain will be discussed.
Adults and adolescents receive a chance to get clean from their drug of choice through drug rehabilitation. Those drugs might include heroin, barbiturates, Bath Salts, Benzodiazepines, Cocaine, Methadone, and Methamphetamines.
Part of this process is detoxification, which is cleansing out the physical body from mind-altering substances. Once this process happens, counseling and therapy follow up and take the adult or adolescent into a deeper understanding of the intricacies behind addiction.
More times than not, there are real-life issues a person has used drugs to hide, repress or deny within themselves. Some issues might include physical, emotional, or mental abuse. Drug rehab allows clients time to discern and figure out what is their truth around these situations.
Counselors and therapists at Alcohol & Drug Rehab Cincinnati with many years of experience in the field of substance abuse treatment and addiction can help make the transition from addiction to recovery easier.
Staff and clients exchange stories of shared experiences, giving recovering individuals hope. The relationships formed between recovering individuals and staff members provide a strong support network that offers strength and guidance during the recovery journey.
