WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Cape Fear Public Utility Authority has lifted a precautionary boil advisory for Merestone Drive, located off Carolina Beach Road near Independence Boulevard in Wilmington.

According to the utility company, crews conducted emergency water main repairs. This was the fifth emergency repair since 2 p.m. Monday, Feb. 3.

CFPUA said this boil water advisory was being issued as a precaution, because periods of low or no pressure increase the potential for the introduction of bacteria into the water system.
