WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- A major topic of discussion at Monday's Wilmington City Council agenda briefing was a scheduled public hearing about a proposed hotel .
Tuesday, the council will hold a public hearing on the proposed sale of land for the hotel. The land would be sold to a private company for $578,820. The company would then construct a $33 million Embassy Suites with 186 rooms.
At Monday's briefing, council members stated that they wanted to see pictures of the proposed structure at the hearing. They also said they want to be able to describe to those in attendance what the hotel would bring to the downtown business sector.
The public hearing will be held at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday in the City Council Chambers downtown.
