INVESTIGATION: Deputies look into fatal dispute

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) - According to the Bladen County Sheriff's Office, a man is in jail after another man was killed Saturday morning.

Antoine Eddington, 44, was shot and killed at 1017 Jack Richardson Road in Elizabethtown after a dispute in the neighborhood.

Troy Cromartie confronted Eddington on the front porch and shots were fired.  Eddington was believed to be have been shot with a round from a revolver.

Cromartie ran into the woods behind the residence, and police later found him when they stopped a vehicle leaving the area.

Cromartie was charged with possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. He was also served with outstanding orders for arrests for felony probation violation and failure to pay child support.

More charges are expected pending review of the case by District Attorney Jon David.
