WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A warmer air mass will build for the weekend - and with it will come clouds and rain chances. These temperature and precipitation trends should combine to eliminate any leftover patches of snow and ice.
SUNDAY NIGHT: Clouds increase ahead of the next system on Monday. Areas of dense fog may develop after midnight and could cause an issue with the Monday morning commute. Lows will be in the low 50s.
THE WORK WEEK: Overall unsettled! Showers are likely Monday with mild highs near 70. Behind the front, it will be mostly cloudy and cooler with highs in the low 50's Tuesday. A few scattered showers are possible as well. A spring like storm will impact the area on Wednesday. A warm front will surge through the area and boost highs into the low 70s. Scattered showers and thunderstorms are likely with this system. Thursday will be the coldest and driest as highs dip to around 50 behind Wednesday's storm. Look for partly sunny skies. Isolated shower chances and milder weather quickly return on Friday. Highs should be in the low 50's.
NEXT WEEKEND: Unsettled. Another system affects the area. Signs point to cool showers on Saturday with highs in the mid 50's. A warm front on Sunday sets the stage for warmer highs in the upper 60's and more convective type heavy showers and thunderstorms.
