WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Despite being the only school in the area in session Friday, students at the University of North Carolina Wilmington were thrilled to be back in class.
"I've been going stir crazy in my dorm," said freshman Scott S. "I moved here from Ohio, so I didn't think I would have to deal with snow days, only beach days,"
Students on campus said Friday has been the first day they've felt safe walking and driving around campus, so they support the university's decisions to resume classes.
Students were also happy to be back in class because they know the impending workload they will have to face over the next few weeks to make up time missed.
"We missed three days," said Sophomore Elizabeth O. "We are going to have doubled the work, which I am not looking forward to."
