Stolen phone leads to cocaine arrest

ELIZABETHTOWN, NC (WECT) – What do a seizure, a stolen cell phone, and a crook who thought he could take advantage of a situation all have in common? They all lead to the arrest of an Elizabethtown teen.

It was your normal day at McDonalds in Elizabeth town when a woman from Alabama was forced to take immediate medical action. While waiting in line, another customer began having a seizure, and the woman from Alabama began helping her. In the process of helping the seizing woman, the woman from Alabama dropped her cell phone.

After the scary ordeal was over, the woman from Alabama could not find her phone. She contacted the Elizabethtown Police Department and they were able to track her phone.

Police arrived on Gill Street in Elizabethtown to find not only the stolen phone, but also six bags of cocaine.

Police arrested Tavon Shamel White, 18, for Misdemeanor Possess stolen property, Felony PWISD Cocaine, Felony Manufacture Cocaine, and Misdemeanor Possess Drug paraphernalia.
