WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – While many businesses have shut down Tuesday due to a winter weather warning, The Dog House is staying open to care for the dogs at their facility.

Owner and operator, Trudy Ringer even plans to sleep at The Dog House Tuesday night so she does not risk not being able to come in tomorrow because of road conditions.

"I love them if they are all my own," said Rinker. "What happens if we can't come back in to take care of them?"

Rinker plans to sleep on a sofa in her office, sharing accommodations with some of the pups.

"It won't be too rough of living conditions," said Rinker.

Still, she says she is one of the only dog boarding businesses that will remain open during the severe winter weather.
