NHRMC to go on lockdown in anticipation of ice and snow

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – New Hanover Regional Medical Center is making preparations to ensure the safety of its patients, visitors and employees in anticipation of ice and snow.

According to a spokesperson, the hospital will go on lockdown at noon Tuesday, Jan. 28 and is anticipated to be lifted at 10 a.m. Thursday, Jan 30.

No visitors will be allowed at the hospital once it has been locked down for the storm.

Furthermore, all elective surgeries and procedures scheduled for Tuesday and Wednesday have been canceled and patients are being notified of changes. Those with questions should call their provider for more information.

According to a spokesperson for the hospital, NHRMC's health information line, Vitaline, will remain open during the storm. Residents with health-related questions or concerns can call (910) 815-5188 to speak with a nurse.
