Funeral services announced for former Detective who lost battle with cancer

BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Funeral arrangements are scheduled for Tony Caison, a former Detective Sargeant with the Brunswick County Sheriff's Office who passed away Monday after battling ampullary cancer.

According to friends of the family, visitation for Tony will be Friday, January 31, from 6-8 p.m. at the Mount Olive Baptist Church in Bolivia.

Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, February 1 at 1 p.m., at Odell Williamson Auditorium on the campus of Brunswick Community College. Burial will take place immediately afterwards at Royal Oak Cemetery.

Detective Caison was diagnosed with the life-threatening disease in 2012. At one point he had gone to a cancer treatment in Texas to receive medical attention.

Caison had gone into hospice late last week. 

Caison served with the county for more than 15 years. He leaves behind his wife Shannon and two sons, Michael and Anthony, Jr.
