WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – At least one housing complex in the Wilmington area is doing what it can to ensure pipes don't freeze…again…as temperatures drop.
Earlier this month, freezing temperatures caused the sprinkler system pipes to burst in roofs at the condos in the Marshes at the Rivers Edge Condo Complex.
About half a dozen family homes were flooded and damaged from the rushing water.
Now, property managers are accepting bids so they can wrap the pipes in thermal tape in an effort to prevent this from happening again.
Managers hope to get construction started as soon as possible.
