Wilmington city staff members hosted a sixth community planning meeting Thursday evening.
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – Wilmington city staff members hosted a sixth community planning meeting Thursday evening.
The meetings give residents an opportunity to share opinions about their communities with city officials. This week's meeting was held in the Bradley Creek neighborhood.
Those in attendance said some of their favorite parts of the area are the abundance of trees and ease of access to the cross-city trail. Residents said things they would like to change about their neighborhood include traffic speeding and a lack of sidewalks.
"I think it's very important that people take ownership for the area they live in. It puts a responsibility on them to keep things moving ahead," said June King, a resident in attendance.
The city will host six more planning meetings in different neighborhoods in the coming months.
