WILMINGTON, NC (WECT)- Forest Hills Elementary School hosted a special guest speaker Thursday evening to remind parents about the impact they can have on the lives of children.
J. Corpening, Chief District Court Judge said he's already spoken to school teachers and staff. He asked them to build positive relationships with students.
"I've been challenging educators and parents through this presentation to build positive relationships with children so that they notice when something is wrong and they notice when a child has needs," explained Corpening.
The speech was just one method used by the judge to help keep schools safe.
