BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Officers with the Southport Police Department are searching for a Walmart employee accused of stealing more than $1,000 in electronics from the store.

According to police reports, Walmart noted three Galaxy Tab 3s and a Nintendo 3DS-XL was taken off their delivery truck and removed from the boxes.

The reports say the empty boxes were put inside different totes that were to be placed out for inventory.

According to officials, this incident happened twice – once Dec. 23 and again Dec. 26.

Since no customers or the public had access to the unloading area, police believe they are looking for a Walmart employee.

Walmart has given the names of employees working on those dates to the Southport Police Department.

Sgt. Mike Williams explained this case is particularly difficult because of the large number of employees who were working on those dates.

Anyone with information regarding the stolen products is asked to contact the Southport Police Department, (910) 457-7917.
