The Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is asking for the public's input on two upcoming decisions.
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is asking for the public's input on two upcoming decisions.
How to spend money
The Wilmington Housing Authority received a grant to help plan for the revitalization of the Dry Pond Neighborhood. This are includes the SouthSide and Hillcrest Public Housing Community.
The city, county, and community leaders are fighting for a $30 million Choice Neighborhoods Grant.
The grant allows officials to use the money to promote the transformation of impoverished areas into viable mixed-income neighborhoods with access to economic opportunities.
There are three ways you can help leaders figure out the best ways to invest the money. You can email your comments, questions, complaints, and points of interest to firstname.lastname@example.org or you can take one of two surveys depending in the area that you live.
The Wilmington Housing Authority Board of Commissioners is also in the process of appointing its next Chief Executive Officer.
The board thinks this type of position should be filled by a person that the public thinks would do a good job. They are asking for the public to share what types of ideals, and attributes a worth candidate should exhibit.
