First Alert Weather: rain likely Tuesday, wintry cold returns to extended forecast

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - A low pressure system will bring a high chance of rain for late Monday night into Tuesday. At least two significant cold fronts will bring shots of wintry air in the extended forecast - one Thursday and one Saturday. Details...

MONDAY NIGHT AND TUESDAY: Expect many clouds. Showers will be likely between midnight and 2pm. Total rain will be not be extreme: on the order of 0.5 inches. Also expect lows mainly low 50s Tuesday morning, highs mainly low 60s Tuesday afternoon, and light south or west breezes. 

WEDNESDAY INTO THURSDAY: Wednesday will likely feature partly sunny skies and highs in the 50s. A rain or snow shower may accompany a colder weather transition Wednesday night into Thursday morning (chance: 30%). Highs Thursday: colder 40s likely.
FRIDAY INTO THE WEEKEND: Temperatures will likely rebound to the 50s Friday but Saturday's highs - given another cold air intrusion - will likely only be in the 40s. Precipitation chances: 0% Friday, 30% Saturday, 0% Sunday.
