Columbia County Sheriff's deputy injured during training exercise

EVANS, GA (WFXG) -

A Columbia County Sheriff's deputy is in the hospital after being injured during a training exercise, according to Capt. Steve Morris.

Gold Cross and Columbia County Fire-Rescue dispatchers indicated the deputy was injured in a single-vehicle motorcycle crash behind the Sheriff's substation in Evans.

An update on the deputy's condition is not available, Capt. Morris said.
