The one-acts run at the Cape Fear Playhouse through January 12.
WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) – The newest show running at the Cape Fear Playhouse on Castle Street offers three plays for the price of one.
ByChance's production consists of three one-act plays.
It starts with Box and Cox, which is about two men unknowingly sharing the same apartment.
There's also The Bear, a love story about an unlikely pair and The Stepmother, a comedy based on mistaken identity.
"You get three plays and that, I think, keeps it fresh and keeps everybody engaged and interested in what's going on," said actor Bradley Coxe. "Right when maybe you've sort of said this one's gone on long enough it ends, so then you can go to the next one and you have a whole new play that you're watching."
All three one-acts offer something different for the audience but have a common theme.
"They're all farces," said Coxe. "They're all sort of light comedy bits and all one acts with different situations, but I think that they all deal with some classic comedy type conflict."
