First Alert Weather: Warmer days ahead, rain chances ramping up

WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Warmer temperatures will accompany an increased rain chance as we head into the weekend.

THURSDAY: Look for milder weather and a mix of sun and clouds as Arctic high pressure retreats offshore.  There is a slight shower chances (20%) near the coast.  Highs will reach the mid 50's.  Clouds increase tonight with a 20% shower chance.  Expect a milder low in the mid 40's.

FRIDAY: The warm up continues!  Highs soar into the mid 60's.  Clouds continues to increase with a southeast flow.  There will be a 40% chance of scattered showers.  Friday night will feature more scattered showers and a mild low in the upper 50's. 

SATURDAY: Warm and muggy south breezes will flow. Expect party to mostly cloudy skies and highs in the lower 70s. Shower and thunderstorm chances will increase throughout the day into Saturday evening (peaking at 80%) ahead of a front.   There is a slight risk of a few strong to severe thunderstorms with damaging winds the primary threat.  Lows by Sunday morning will reach 50. 

SUNDAY:   There is a slight shower chance early in the day.  Outside of that skies will become mostly sunny with highs in the mid 60's.  Lows Sunday night will be in the mid 40's.
 
MONDAY AND TUESDAY: Quiet with mostly to partly sunny skies.  Isolated showers are possible Tuesday ahead of the next Arctic cold front. Highs will be in the mid to upper 60's.  Lows will be in the 40's.
 
WEDNESDAY AND THRUSDAY: The next blast of Arctic cold!  A few lingering showers are possible Wednesday.  Highs will be in the upper 40's and lows in the 20's.
