BRUNSWICK COUNTY, NC (WECT) – Work on the replacement of a 62-year-old bridge on Midway Road in Brunswick County started Monday.
Part of Midway Road will be closed for the next five months as part of this project.
The bridge replacement was originally slated to start in the spring of 2013, but there were concerns it would have impacted summer tourism or become an issue during a hurricane evacuation.
Drivers should used Gilbert Rd. and U.S. 17 Business to bypass Midway Road while crews work in the area.
