Trucker hospitalized after south Nash shooting

A truck driver was sent to the hospital in critical condition after a shooting Saturday morning.

The incident occurred on Millwood Street near a Taco Bell restaurant in south Nashville.

The 30-year-old male was shot in the upper abdomen by a male suspect in a white car.

The victim managed to drive away but stopped in the middle of Murfreesboro Road.

Emergency responders rushed the victim to Vanderbilt University Medical Center with stomach wounds.

Police believe the shooting was drug related.

The investigation is ongoing. No further details are available at this time.
