WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Dry weather will likely hold for New Years Eve and most of New Years Day. A storm system will likely bring rain Wednesday night and Thursday and then a shot of colder air for Friday and Saturday.
NEW YEARS EVE (OVERNIGHT PORTION): Expect clear to partly cloudy skies, rain chances staying near 0%, and temperatures reaching lows mainly in the middle and upper 30s late. Have a happy and safe night!
NEW YEARS DAY INTO WEDNESDAY NIGHT: Expect increasing and thickening clouds. Rain chances will trend from near 0% for most of the day to 60% for Wednesday night. After highs in the 50s to near 60 during the day, expect temperatures to fall to the 40s Wednesday night.
EXTENDED FORECAST HIGHLIGHTS: Expect dry and cold weather for Friday and Saturday with daytime highs in the 40s and lows in the 20s Friday night. A new cold front may bring scattered showers Sunday and Monday... and then a fresh surge of cold weather for next Tuesday.
