CAROLINA BEACH, NC (WECT) – Town leaders in Carolina Beach will be asking for input from residents during their next meeting about changing the rules when it comes to having dogs on the beach.

Carolina Beach officials say there is confusion when dogs are allowed to play in the sand because the rules vary at the different beaches on Pleasure Island.

The Town of Carolina Beach is proposing to adopt the same ordinance used in Kure Beach, which allows dogs on the beach from October to the end of February.

Council will hold a public hearing January, 14 at 7 p.m.
