A Midstate mother is in jail after her toddler was allegedly found locked inside a truck in the middle of the night.
A man says he was on his way inside the Wal-Mart on Dickerson Pike late Monday night when he spotted a little girl in the back of a pickup truck by herself.
He went inside, and when he came back out 45 minutes later, he says the girl was still there, so he called police.
According to the affidavit, when officers got there, the toddler opened the door.
They say the child was cold to the touch and had a soiled diaper. They took her inside to get warm and waited for the driver.
Police say it was an hour and 15 minutes before Mercedes Sevier showed up at the truck.
Officers say the Sevier initially lied, saying it wasn't her vehicle, then eventually admitted it was.
Sevier was taken into custody and is charged with aggravated child endangerment.
