WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The City of Wilmington is "connecting" the city with ideas from the community through their "Connect Wilmington" initiative
According to Melissa Talbert, Public information Officer for the City, Connect Wilmington is similar to a social network.
It will allow for the community's contribution without ever having to leave the couch.
"There are some people who want to contribute to the city's vision but may not necessarily want to come and voice their opinions at the meetings. This way, they can get involve and comment on ideas for the city."
Most recently, they have asked for people traveling for the holidays, to send them pictures of interesting ideas they see in other cities, that they would also like to see here in Wilmington.
Some of the most popular ideas have been a rail service to Raleigh and a pedestrian footbridge over South College Road.
