LSU pulls away from cold-shooting UAB

BATON ROUGE, LA (RNN) - Johnny O'Bryant III scored 17 points to lead four LSU players who were in double digits in an 86-63 win over UAB.

UAB forward C.J. Washington had 12 points and 10 rebounds, but only shot 33 percent from the floor, including missing all four of his 3-point attempts.

As a team, the Blazers (9-3) shot just 1-for-16 from behind the arc.

LSU (8-2) had a much stronger day from long range, led by Andre Stringer's three triples and 13 points. Jarell Martin and Jordan Mackey each added 12 points for the Tigers. Tim Quarterman came off the bench to add nine points and nine assists.

The last time UAB got any closer than 10 points was when Washington hit a layup to make it 60-50 with 10:24 in the second half.

Then the Tigers went on a 12-3 run and were not tested for the final seven minutes of the game.
