Ole Miss hosts Mercer on Sunday

The Ole Miss Rebels will welcome the Mercer (GA) Bears to Oxford on Sunday. The Ole Miss Rebels will welcome the Mercer (GA) Bears to Oxford on Sunday.

OXFORD, MS (RNN) – The Ole Miss Rebels will welcome the Mercer (GA) Bears to Oxford on Sunday.

This is the sixth meeting between the Rebels (8-2) and the Bears (7-4), with Ole Miss leading the all-time record 5-0. The last meeting was in 1983.

Ole Miss hopes to continue its recent two-game winning streak against Mercer; its last game was Dec. 18 when the Rebels defeated the Louisiana-Monroe Warhawks 75-62. The Bears are also on a two-game winning streak, with its last victory coming against the Alcorn State Braves 70-44.

The Rebels are averaging 80.2 points per game so far this season, and are 7-1 this year when they score 70 points or more. The Bears are also a high-scoring team, averaging 82.8 points per game.

Mercer's leading scorer is senior guard Langston Hall, who is averaging 14.9 points and 5.5 assists per game.

Senior guard Marshall Henderson is the leading scorer for the home team, averaging 18.8 points per game.

Tipoff between the Rebels and the Bears will be at 4 p.m. ET and will be televised on CSS.
