Carolina Beach still divided over new development

Carolina Beach business owners and residents are talking about the new development that's coming to town.

Last night the Carolina Beach Town Council granted the Arcadia Group a permit to construct an eleven building complex comprised of condos, restaurants, and retail shops.

A lot of restaurant owners didn't want to talk about the issue on camera because they were afraid of losing customers. But many said they are looking forward to serving  additional business the new development will bring.

Many residents still oppose the Arcadia development.  They said they are worried the structure will change the character of their beach.

Even though the Council was unanimous in their approval, Carolina Beach residents are still divided.
