WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - Libby Washington and her four-year-old daughter, Monyeil, are both staying at the Good Shepherd Center in Wilmington this holiday season.

The center provides the homeless with a place to sleep and get hot meals.

Washington and her daughter returned to their room after dinner to a surprise Thursday evening.

Their entire room had been decorated with Christmas décor and there were several presents for Monyeil sitting under a small Christmas tree.

Members of the Rob Cutting State Farm Agency wanted to help out a family in need this holiday season, so they decided to bring Christmas cheer to the Washington family.

Libby Washington was moved to tears, and said she was incredibly grateful for the kind gesture.

"I would love to tell Santa and his helpers thank you very much, and God bless," said Libby Washington. "This is truly the meaning of this season.  I appreciate it.  I appreciate you so much."
