WILMINGTON, NC (WECT) - The Lady Seahawks played host to Liberty on an early 11:30 a.m. tip at Trask Coliseum Thursday.
It marked the seventh installment of the "Seahawks Tomorrow" game where thousands of young students from around the area were in attendance.
The UNCW Women's Trask Coliseum attendance record was broken as 5,421 people filled the seats.
Junior guard Kelva Atkins put up 15 points, 6 rebounds, and 3 assists. Brie Mobley also chipped in with 12 points and 9 boards.
Both girls' efforts and the massive crowd did not help the Lady Seahawks though. After being tied with just minutes to go in the second half UNCW could not close out.
UNCW was handed their eighth straight loss with the final of 64-55. They move to 1-10 on the season.
Their next game will be at home December, 29 against Florida Atlantic.
