(WECT) - Nine million Americans choose to visit the Caribbean around this time of year for a break from the cold, but if you do, you may want to be careful.
Officials from the Centers for Disease Control say there have been ten cases of the mosquito-borne Chickungunya virus among residents in St. Martin.
Symptoms include severe joint pain, fever and headache.
The virus can't spread from person to person, but if a mosquito bites someone who is infected it can become a carrier of the virus.
